So it happened!
The owners of this place by our office have never wanted to sell their vacant spot of ten years, but they just did. An opportunity that would come your way only once in a lifetime and no matter what, you grab it.
Now, our owned office space has more than doubled, but a guy from Google has already rented it (before we have even taken possession) to live there.
That brings us back on track, with new challenges - to make everything modular. ‘Cuz, we will need to make structural changes in a year and combine that office in after his term.
Another challenge is, doing up the building, the house and this new purchase all together has costed quite a bit. So, we need to severely cut down our budget to re-do.
We are in the second week. Hope you’ve all had fun holidays and kickstarted this year with a bang. Jan can be a very hectic month after all the fun we’ve had.
Just sit back and relax, take a deep breath at least five times a day and every time you drink a cup of tea, try something different.
You’ll hear from me soon.
Surely by now you may wonder why there are no updates from me on this? Well, we’re up to something I really can’t disclose until the second week of Jan. It has delayed our project a bit, but it’s truly gonna be worth it, if the plans fall into place. Something we have been waiting for since over a decade now. You’ll hear from me soon. Enjoy the holiday season.
How is this for a seat? Comfy enough for you?
Started the day before, but I spent fourteen and a half hours yesterday with nine of us on the job to clean up.
My office is right by my home. But, it needs to be moved to break the place down. Hence, I needed to clear out one of our bedrooms and set up our base there for a couple of months. To put away some stuff from this room, I needed to clean another - guest room. But, there’s plenty of kitchen crockery and cutlery in the guest room since our home renovation is coming to an end and the living room furniture has gone for polishing.
After a good, but exhausting twenty five hours, I feel like I’m half way there and it now feels liberating. Living in a neat well organized space makes you feel liberated from clutter. Your mind feels relaxed and rejuvenated.
Now, I’ve gotta put up the treadmill and projection tv up for sale. We don’t need to re-purpose those.
It’s more difficult to do up your home while you live there, than to move to a new one. The trick to giveaway most things is:
- think of it as if, if you had to flee from your home and move to a new one, what would you need?
- put away all those items you haven’t used in the past few months,
- think of all the people that could live on what you didn’t use.
Maybe, you should try and spend sometime this weekend to free your environment and mind from clutter. And then tell me how you feel
Please be seated in our bathtub, while you wait. What color would you pick for our visitors couch?
My office space. Ditched my computer for basic tools and check the visitors chair. UpCycling at HitPlay.
We’re just starting our “Project Up”, where “There is nothing like waste.” We’re recycling, re-purposing and up-cycling our entire office to create the Eastern World’s First ever Upcycled offices. We wanted to be the World’s first, but when we searched, we found another company from the west did it before us.
As the founder of HitPlay and working hands-on on this with my team, I’m gonna try live blogging about our plans and progress frequently. So that, one day you can create one for yourself, too. And, hopefully together we can make this a greener planet. Like any other business, there’s big planning and execution involved, but I hope to simplify it for you.
Our basic plans include, Waste Disposal Management from various events that will take place, for instance, the house-keeping at Sunburn 2012 in Goa is being trained to pick up the right waste for us and dispose what’s not needed. Raddhi-wallahs from various locations in Mumbai are engaged in working with us on this. Friends and family are donating us a lot of junk.
If there is anything that’s gone old and you need to dispose, but you’re too emotional about and don’t have the heart to let go, do reach out to me. We may be able to take good care of it.
Even if you can lend us an office space for 2 months, we will be very grateful.
You’ll hear back from me soon. Until then… :)
